Horoscope for April 2022

La Primavera (Spring) Walter Crane

This month’s highlight is the utterly beguiling Jupiter Conjunct Neptune in Pisces, it is the stuff of dreams.

April is filled with both sweet and sour moments and almost nothing in between. Hopefully, with a bit of insight, you will be able to take the sour as medicine for what can make you stronger, and enjoy the sweetness that is in ample supply

Aries Rising

The Month starts with the new moon in Aries: the perfect time to make a change in the way you present yourself, a fresh start or new image. Something bold and uncontrived. You will be interested in meeting your own emotional needs and nourishment first, erecting appropriate boundaries in our social life with Mars conjunct Saturn in the 11th house, before you can turn your attention to others mid-month.

You can really express yourself verbally when Mercury joins your Sun, amplifying what you have to say, on the 3rd. Just watch your lightning-quick, shoot-from-the-hip attitude doesn’t burn unnecessarily; if you are going to be clear, take aim.

In the first two weeks the planets of passion, Venus and Mars, take shelter in your 12th house. You may feel secretive or seclusive about who or what you love. But the mood is warm and fuzzy. It is also a time for spiritual reflection, quiet enjoyment, daydreaming privately, a chance to not be productive on purpose. Mid-month you may wallow in frustration at any constraints upon you, with your physical energy and drive at a low. Don’t worry – its only temporary, and a good time to recharge.

When it comes to money you will be inclined to analyze how it is working for you, particularly over goods and trade, any problems here will stick in your craw, but you will mostly enjoy assessing your worth. Life gets more playful and vocal next month while Mercury is in Gemini, your chatty 3rd house, you have a lot of fun with young people and peers. Be aware of spreading your attention too thin.

Full Moon in Libra on the 16th puts focus on relationships, and with Libra’s ruler, Venus in the 12th; you might have a secret crush or admirer, or complicated relationships you want to steer away from gossip.

The Sun dissipates your resources, particularly on indulgences, although you might justify a practical investment. Ever find that April and May are the months you spend the most frivolously? These months each year you may find you spend on luxury items, investment pieces, and sensual experiences. This month’s Solar eclipse in Taurus on the 30th is not auspicious for spending or moving money. Watch out for hidden costs that are uncured at this time but may not become apparent until later. Conjunct Uranus might also indicate sudden changes in income or in value.

Taurus Rising

This two-week period is a time of rest, reflection, and active letting go of old wounds, secrets, and burdens. Avoid dwelling negatively on problems and chose either to sit with them in peace or let them go. This is a period of incubation of your emotions, thoughts, and sense of self. You can’t know it just yet, but soon a new way of engaging with the world will be born. By the 11th Mercury shifts into your first house, giving voice to your personality, opinion, and clarity of thought.

Your social life and involvement with groups will take on a romantic quality that is warm, compassionate, and comforting, often taking on an ethereal quality, full of idealism and optimism; be aware that some of this will be illusory and short-lived but capitalize on its feel-good vibe and dream big potential; it can be fuel for something wonderful. When Mars moves into Pisces the next day, it stokes your desire to act on your dreams and ideals.

16th Full moon libra; now is the time you can realise what all that dark reflection and solitude was about, and what it can give you towards healing. Insights into what held you back at the beginning of the month can aid you in knowing what habits to let go of, what needs detoxing in your life. Your 6th house libra has a keen sense of getting the balance right here.

20th April: Happy Birthday Taurus!

Now you get to shine. What a turnaround over a month! Cracking that chrysalis to a sense of freedom, purpose, and self-expression is just a joy to see. You are emerging from the 12th house like hawthorn blossoms! (Which, by the way, you should be wearing in May).

Gemini tends to scatter its resources, so be aware of where your money is going; it is a good time to gather information on expenditure and income, as you could increase the latter if you work out how. Financial planning is worthwhile during this transit.

Gemini Rising

Your social life gets some uplift this month, with Mercury conjunct the Sun on the 3rd you will feel extra chatty (which for you is quite difficult to top!). You will be in a great position to assert yourself in groups, and in the mood to take the initiative with friendships.

Your work life might be feeling a lot more cohesive and calm this month, with cordial relationships and plenty of creativity. There is an air of kindness and a desire to give more, with ideals being the focus of that giving rather than ambition or productivity. That said, watch a welcome decompression that doesn’t turn into idleness. You will need to put your foot on the gas later in the month when Mars enters Pisces. This will look less like being a powerhouse and more like being a champion.

You may not be used to sitting and being with your thoughts without analyzing them. It’s time to consider things in private, about what you value, about what is solid and real. Later in the month the Sun and mercury will visit Uranus and so will an eclipse. This is really time to do some soul searching and housework around your well-being. Things will get shaken out that no longer serve you, it befits you to take stock so that you don’t succumb to fears or negative feelings. On the other hand, the 12th being a house that is out of sight, much of this may go on subconsciously, without even a thought.

The Libra full Moon’s light is shining on your creativity, let it help you focus your efforts where they matter most, and let the rest slide.

After the compression of planets in your hidden 12th house, Mercury in your first is welcome. The helmsman is here to help you express all that latent energy and insight. You will have a lot to say about yourself and your perspective on things, and for a Gemini rising that is sweet relief.

Cancer Rising

The New Moon in Aries might see some fresh ideas bounced around at work, some new projects getting launched, or just a fresh feeling for you where the decks are cleared, and you can get some high perspective on the situation at hand. Some doors might be opened for you, so speak up and listen in if you want to reap the benefits.

Mars conjunct Saturn in your 8th house might see you worried and anxious. Indeed, some things in life may be coming to an end. But it is better to grasp the nettle where you can. Where you can’t, seek solace in the healing balm of Pisces…

In your 9th house: Venus and Mars both enter Pisces and Jupiter conjuncts Neptune in the first two weeks of April.

Whatever else is going on, the warmth of your soulful house is glowing; Deep spiritual awareness, compassion, and idealism shape the way you frame life this month, and you will feel passion in your worldview. Don’t waste time defending this, it’s yours and yours alone; let it be a lived experience.

Taurus 11th house: Mercury stimulates thoughtful conversation with friends and groups, and you may find you are the grounding force for turning those ideas and ideals into something fruitful. You bring a lot of hope among your friends at a time when they need the shine put back in. This will be somewhat draining, and you will be very sensitive to changes in atmosphere and demand around the Solar eclipse in Taurus on the 20th. A received sextile from the Moon to your Ascendant means you absorb the impact of the eclipse well and can be a support for other people who are harder hit by it.

A full Moon in your 4th house Libra signals comfy blanket time. Great for spending time relaxing at home or making it beautiful with those harmonizing touches of spring.

By the end of the month, Mercury in Gemini gives you quiet time to think and process retrospectively. Something you feel is necessary to understand, to give order and file to thoughts that get side-lined by your emotions. Private study, research, or writing will go well now. Other people may feel that you are being secretive, but really you are just not sharing your thoughts as they turn inwards.

Leo Rising

You are absolutely certain, from the beginning of the month, that your ideas, ideals, and judgments are the best. On the one hand your courageous championing of causes and The Good is the stuff of Legend any day, and ever more so this month when your ideals are exalted and mercury gives precision aim; but be careful not to lambast other people, they count even if their opinions don’t.

It is possible that martial energy may get directed at a significant other; you might say some divisive things that keep you divided. If you can hone this energy well, instead, direct it by defending those you love without reducing their agency.

There is much activity in your 8th house in the first two weeks, with pros and cons: Pisces is the gentlest of 8th houses, Jupiter shows there may be some benefit financially from other people, but Mars takes away in some measure. There is little clarity on matters that make you anxious, and you may be prone to dwell and imagine the worst. It’s Pisces, it’s Neptune; much of this is simply not real. Constructive use of this is not to worry or turn to escapism of any kind, but to recognise that compassion and self-worth are more than gold. Don’t give yourself away.

Your 10th house of career is singing! Quite possibly literally, Mercury in Taurus, the Sun follows suit; excellent for the beautiful voice, but in the 10th, you get to use it from the rooftops. You will have a lot to say about what makes the world beautiful, what moves you in your work, and how you plan to shine. The solar eclipse at the end of the month can see you eclipsed by another – eclipses are an overturning of the norm and a temporary departure. There are surprises in store for you in your work, though good or bad depends much on your chart and how well you balance the needs of home and career, family and fame.

The 3rd house Libra full Moon on the 16th is a good time to get a sense of balance and know what to let go of to maintain it. Your communication is subjective and reaching out to women as a sounding board may help balance that.

Next month will be much more stimulating for social connection, as Mercury enters your 11th house of Gemini; you may be busy with many friends, a lighter time that flies, and this will help you get April’s tougher aspects in perspective.

Virgo Rising

The New moon in your 8th house is a good time to review your finances, especially those shared, inheritance, money owed, taxes, pensions, and the like. Its not the time or place to be impulsive, or emotionally wrought about things beyond your control; it will pass – just make sure you are on top when it does.

A tough conjunction between Mars and Saturn in your house of health may dog you early in the month, and lethargy sets in. To make the best of this transit it is worth getting some discipline around health and lifestyle habits, not just yours but your kids, pets, whoever you supervise in life.

Relationships get extra romantic, dreamy, loving, and passionate the first two weeks with your Pisces 7th house gaining Venus and Mars, and Jupiter conjunct Neptune on the 12th. Be warned; you will be wearing rose-tinted glasses on top of another pair of rose tints! But why not, eh?

Mercury in your 9th house might help keep your seventh a little more ‘real’ in Taurus. Plus, there might be some travel in store for you, probably more for love and pleasant visits than anything else. You will likely feel good about the world and your place in it.

The 2nd house full Moon in Libra gives a boost to your income or shines a pleasing light on what you want and how you might get it. Be careful that you don’t spend your resources just as quickly as the moon wanes.

Mercury enters Gemini, your 10th house on the 29th of the month. Your ability to think things through at work is extra sharp, and you may find yourself juggling a multitude of things you wouldn’t normally contemplate.

Libra Rising

A new Moon followed by Mercury conjunct the Sun in your Aries 7th house could indicate a new relationship, partnership of any kind, or a fresh look at how you relate. The messages you get from others are loud and clear, and things move along very fast.

If you have children, things might be a little tough. Mars conjuncts Saturn, showing hard divisions or strict discipline, leaving them feeling bruised. They will need their routines and their peers more than ever. Creatively you may want to just tear it all up and start again, but a better approach is to carefully review what needs to go, framed by the idea of how many resources you can afford to give it. That should separate the wheat from the chaff.

You should be feeling great in body and mind this month. Be careful not to overindulge; your Pisces 6th can trick you into excess. Do everything that makes you feel well, beautiful and radiant.

Your attention may turn to deep, to matters about mortality and loss, or you may confront issues that cause you anxiety or irrational fears. This is likely to be positive, as the transits of Mercury and the Sun help you to understand more clearly. You might also be dealing with joint financial transactions, which are likely to be very beneficial. The Solar eclipse on the 30th may throw a spanner in the works, but look to the advice or heads up Mercury may have to offer on the 15/16th of the month.

The Full Moon in your first house on the 16th is your emotions are on show, and you need to feel seen, acknowledged. What you began at the start of the month with another, starts to bear fruit and you will feel appreciated. It is a good time to let go of parts of your self-image that are not serving you.

From the 29th Mercury in your 9th house has you trumpeting your perspective and opinions on everything. You will absorb information about the world very readily and may well be for on some travels.

It’s the right time to focus on your health, habits, and routines this month, with the New Moon in Aries helping you slew away the unwanted and undermining and preparing the ground for better sorts. Mercury joins the Sun on the 3rd to give you an ah-ha moment of recognition; you’ll know what isn’t right and what can help you. Get the balance right on hot and spicy, and on meat and exercise; you know which way you have gone.

Tensions at home may flair up, temporarily, so try to keep a cool head and be objective, especially if another isn’t. It will pay off to negotiate the end to something in a responsible, mature way before it is ended for you.

Scorpio Rising

Your house of creativity and children gets a boost from the 5th to the end with Venus entering the sign of Pisces, and Jupiter and Neptune will conjunct. Lots of playfulness, dreams, intuitive creation, and warm loving support. Jupiter in the 5th is an auspicious place for pregnancy and anything relating to your children. Dote on them! (Or it could just be their outrageous party is causing the trouble we just mentioned!)

Your relationships get a huge boost with Mercury and the Sun from the 11th and 20th respectively. This means lots of talk, thinking about, and focusing on the people you relate to, but especially partners. Uranus has been here a while now, stirring things up and not letting you settle, or settle for the same old. An eclipse so close on the 30th will underscore matters around relationship stability, harmony, and the balance of needs – both between two of you, and within yourself around security vs adventure, in a way that is likely to be draining for your partner or keeping the focus on your own well being if you are single.

The Full Moon in Libra on the 16th draws your attention to your innermost world, the unconscious, and deeply private life; something Scorpio rising aces. Some unforeseeable event may occur, shedding at least a half-light on some matter. You may choose to release some bond that holds you back in ways you didn’t even realise. Its profound stuff. This is also a place to unravel more of that health detox we talked about with the new Moon.

From the 29th into next month, Mercury in Gemini will get you focusing on finances, especially those relating to others or jointly. Any stresses or anxieties might go into hyperdrive, but forewarned is forearmed; communicating these, even if to yourself by getting them down on paper may help, so you can keep all those tangents in your sights and stay cool.

Sagittarius Rising

Your creativity bolts out of the starting block this month. Make the most of it in the first two weeks as the creative inspiration and joy starts there, and the New Moon in Aries is a good self-starter. If you have kids, they will be incandescent with joy, noise, and laughter.

Your ability to communicate might come under some stress with Mars conjunct Saturn in the 3rd House. These last couple of years you are quite the critical thinker, observing and understanding the hard realities. Once you have the lay of the land you might feel inclined to cut ties with something taking up your mental space, or prune back your use of tech or social media. This could be a good thing, but make sure it is in alignment what your wider plans.

Your home is your refuge, your fantasy castle, your good night of dreaming. Any plans you have to expand the home, create the illusion of space, or create a beautiful illusion of whatever you desire in a home, are good to go right now. Venus, Jupiter, and Pisces are all there, ripening your dreams to fruition, indulging you, enchanting you. Not just the home but family life. If this is not your life – if you are cut adrift or struggling here, someone may reach out to you, or you may reach out to someone, who can show the home and family are a place of compassion and caring.

Mercury in Taurus on the 11th gets you some headway into seeing what needs sorting in your house of health and wellbeing before the Sun follows on the 20th. The eclipse cycle takes place here, and in your 12th throughout the year, highlighting a need for self-care and good routines that are good for you. Heed the advice these two planets bring, and it will help keep health surprises or problems later out of the picture.

A moment of blossoming in your friendships and wider circles happens around the Full Moon mid-month, and you will feel the need for that personal connection. Feel free to let of the need for approval though, you will get it, but it serves less purpose than you suppose.

Mercury in your 7th house at the end of the Month puts your partnerships into speed. Your connection with others is cerebral and stimulating, but your attention is scattered by all those fascinating folks. Do reach out to connect, the other/s will be just as ready to talk to you.

Capricorn Rising

Your home life has been firing on all cylinders during Aries season, and with the New Moon here on the 1st and the Mercury soon to conjunct the Sun, you get the chance to start something new in this area of life, for which you will have the perception and drive.

Your money and resources need some attention. Saturn has been constricting, or maybe consolidating this over the last couple of years, and Mars is about to take a cut. Traditionally Mars in the 2nd house disperses resources, so think about your spending habits and where you can cut back. This might not be from financial need; it is a prudent time to do this as it exemplifies what these planets do. You will be glad in the long run; this hard combo is about reality and how you shape it.

A warm communicator already, you just keep getting warmer, possibly even gooey, definitely enchanted, with Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune in your 3rd house. Be wary of deception or self-deception in what you say, or what is conveyed to you. Also, now is such a great time to tell people how you feel, and you may feel like gushing, which is most un-Capricorn of you. It’s all part of this trio’s charms.

Mercury is a child in the house of children, from the 11th of the month, either your own or some visitor to your creative vision. It’s a good month to align your routines and health with creative outlets or do some creative learning. When the Sun arrives here on the 20th, ahead of the end of month eclipse, you will feel the pulse of some blooming creativity or action is underway.

The Full Moon in Libra on the 16th gives you a chance to highlight your diplomacy skills and ability to balance competing needs. The pros might be obvious, the cons will become apparent and let go of as the Moon wanes.

Nervous tension may start to build at the end of the month with Mercury going into Gemini, you might find it hard to switch off mentally. To keep your attention from scattering unproductively and causing you stress, Make the most of those Pisces placements, thinking and saying things that are encouraging, imaginative, warm, and supportive; this might be to others or a little talk with yourself.

Aquarius Rising

I don’t know who this is for, but the phrase, ‘never darken my door again’ will be a successful release communicated by or to you, bringing healing. The Moon is in her darkened door on the 1st, and the Sun is the cause, making her new again just past that equinoctial gate. We have light, and a newly birthed Moon who will swell into existence, bringing new, positive communications with it.

This might be underscored by Mars conjunct Saturn on the 4th, where you strip-search your own identity of anything that isn’t real. You are ready to take down any criticism that doesn’t hold water and brave enough to be unsparingly frank about yourself. Just be sure that crisis isn’t turned on yourself unnecessarily; you can self-audit and still hold your head high. It can be done healthily.

How you make and spend money may never have been your forte, and this month you could do so unwisely, it is a good time, however, to really enjoy what you have and you value. If mad-cap ideas take you in directions of money-making that are regarded as unworldly (like astrology for instance!) it’s not a bad time to start – you might need a second pair of (Virgo) eyes to make sure you keep it real though.

Your home life and family come into focus from the 11th, with Mercury and later the Sun in Taurus. Uranus has been sat there for a few years and will be for a few more, bringing changes and unusual circumstances or upheavals, which as an Aquarius rising you are better positioned than most to handle; right now, though, this process is sped up by the faster, bright planets.

The Full Moon in Libra on the 16th may indicate travel or a return from abroad. You might also be in a philosophical mood; always able to balance your and other people’s perspectives on politics and religion, you might find it useful to reflect on them now, as your insights are worth sharing.

Mercury enters Gemini on the 29th, busying your house of creativity, children, and leisure. It’s a great time for sportsmanship, writing, being with kids, or being a big kid. You get to dash about and spin all the plates in whatever you take your pleasure.

Pisces Rising

Your second house of finances is occupied by the Sun, indicating you may be overspending, you are certainly burning through the money, without knowing. On the upside, Mercury here can make you a little savvier, and the New Moon marks a turning point, just make sure you know how the land lies so that point is up. You will be valuing children and things that give you pleasure in life right now.

With that in mind, your financial ruler is Mars in the 12th house, and he will conjoin Saturn on the 4th, lending some gravity to the situation, defining some boundaries, and challenging others, all in areas of life that are hidden or difficult, or beyond your ken. The most difficult feelings arise, but these planets have work to do for you. If the going gets bad, take heart, take a leaf from Pisces…

Pisces: Venus, Jupiter, Neptune are here for the month, and Mars sojourns after; They matter most here because this is you. And you are positively blooming (so don’t let the Mars/Saturn haters get you down). You have the ability to captivate, entrance, and enchant the whole world this month, and every kind of beauty, love, and kindness is yours. You will also confuse the hell out of people, and kid yourself about a few things. No matter; revel in it! Bask in the auspices of these planets here. By the time Mars gets here, you will be picking up some oomph to work it.

From the 11th Mercury in Taurus give you an opportunity for you to voice yourself clearly, and what you have to say will be seen and heard when the Sun enters on the 20th. There may be some shakeups with technology, or maybe you just have a surprise to announce when they roll past Uranus. Not least because the eclipse cycle falls on the Taurus-Scorpio axis, challenging what you understand and believe.

The Libra Full Moon in your 8th house casts long shadows on your fears and insecurities, but that light is also a chance to let them go. Any shared resources get scooped up in that partnership and will wither away – it’s not a good time to transfer money if that can be postponed, for a couple of weeks.

When Mercury goes into Gemini on the 29th your home life and family may become overstimulating, with a lot of talk, thinking, rationalising. You may find yourself between homes if there is more than one you call home. The best use of this is to clear out and problem solve; a trine with Saturn gives you pragmatism and responsibility and being in the 12 house it is good to deal with the things you don’t want to look at because they hurt or are hard work, all still relating to home, family and private life.
